Los Nogales is a family-run coffee farm located in Pitalito, Huila, Colombia, managed by the Hernández siblings, who are third-generation coffee producers. The farm sits at high altitudes (around 1,870–2,000 meters) and is known for its sustainable and experimental approach to coffee production. After their father, Ricaurte Hernández, won Colombia’s Cup of Excellence in 2005, the family continued innovating — using organic practices and unique fermentation methods to produce standout coffees.
Their Typica variety, when processed naturally (or using experimental natural-like methods), often results in a sweet, fruity cup with notes like tropical fruits, berries, and dark cherry. These coffees tend to have a rich body, lively acidity, and a clean, sugary finish — thanks to the farm’s careful cherry selection and fermentation expertise.
